Guns are our first priority

The news article "Do We Have the Courage to stop this" is about how people are trying to cut down on the gun policy. This atricle explains how they want to restrict how many guns people can be buy in a month and the amount of time they have to wait to buy one. They are comparing this to things like cars because they are more hardcore when it comes to driving and having a car than they are for having  guns .They want to stop crazies from getting guns because they are the main ones that are doing the mass killings. I think they should have taken this situation seriously when they first began to sell guns because guns are very powerful and harmful weapons. They should do full background checks on anyone that wants to buy a gun just to be sure that the gun is going in safe hands. I also think you should have to certain  age to own one like 50 and older because no one younger than that should have any reason to want to own a gun.

the deal of Marijuana

The article "Marijuana law just creates criminals" is about how many people are being arrested for posession of Marijuana. In this article they were saying that the police may stop you and search you which is called "stop and risk." They are also saying that most of these people come from communities of color. For possesion of Marijuana you can spend three months in jail and pay a $500 fine. I believe that Marijuana be illegal everywhere because it is not really that healthy for you. I also thought to even be able to have it you needed a prescription from your doctor. Smoking Marijuana is a big deal, so the fact you have it and plan on smoking it or dealing it you should do way more then three months in jail. Also i feel certain people shouldnt be excluded to be allowed to do it because it is wrong.

In the atricle "Low water levels on Mississippi threatens shipping" they are talking about how the water levels are so low it is impossible to get grain and other materials across sea to where they need to go. They were also saying that if they wait too long that  economic losses will sky rocket into the billions. which may cause higher prices of goods down the road. I personally think this a serious situation because a lot of things are made of and have grain in them. I feel they need to find another way to get the goods across sea, even though they may fix the problem temporarily because this problem  may occur again in the future. Too many people depend on this supply of grain for them to not be taking action as soon as possible.

Is it really a good idea for 16 year-olds to drive?

In the article "Should 16-year-olds drive?" it is saying that they believe that 16 year old teenagers are not ready to drive. In the article it says that researchers for the insurance institute say 16 year olds should not be able to get their drivers license.  Linnea Greci a 15 year old girl believes that it does'nt matter what age you are you should be able to get your drivers license. Some people believe that age has nothing to do with maturity and just because you're young does'nt mean you may not be mature enough or be a good driver. I honestly believe that although you you may be mature enough or a good driver does'nt mean you should be able to get your license. Because there will always be a time especially being a teenager where you will not be aware of everything around you and other drivers on the road. Also because I know as a teenager I can get distracted very easily. I personally want my license but most likely will wait until I am a little older and mature enough to get my license and drive on the road with other moving vehicles.

Smartphones

In the article "Your smartphone is a pain in the neck" they have been explaining how your posture and the way you look at your smartphone may be causing what they call text neck. They have different doctors and therapist studying multiple people. Like Dr. Fishman had a patient that came in because of a headache and neck pain. He was examing the young teen and noticed that the way she was sitting looking at her smartphone may have been causing the problem. They also have a therapist Dr. DIAngelis saying that this may be causing other problems but her main question is what is going to be the long term effects of this. Then they say that people are using the media entertainment for 7 and a half hours sitting in the same position is not making it better. However they say that if you get up every 20 mins and stretch your shoulders and neck it may prevent you from getting sore necks and headaches. I feel that this is a piece of information that every teen that has a cellphone should read. Because they need to know why they may be getting headaces and crinks in their necks. I myself have experiened these symptons and agree that they are every bad. After reading this it makes me kind of want to stop texting so much even though that probably isnt going to happen.

Because we need change!

In the article "Yay!Boo!So? Reactions to Obama win vary" it is getting peoples thoughts on the election and the results of the election. Like in the article it was saying that Marty Brenna was saying how she would be happy with either candidate and she was not at all disappointed with the results. But people like the new jersey governor were saying that she would have preferred a business man like Romney because she feels he would get the job done. I honestly believe that Obama is a better choice for America because he touches the key points of whats going on in our society and economy. Another reason I feel Obama is a better choice because Romney felt as though women should not be paid as much as men, which is ridiculous because it is mostly women that take care of the men. Most people need to think about certain things like everyday life and how it could change at any moment because of a stupid decision and also other people before the go in the booths and decide who should be Americas president for the next four years because every vote counts.

Will climate get respect ?

In this article "Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now" they are talking about the highest recoreds of floods and the climate and weather change. In the article it says that president obama and mitt romney didnt seem to want to talk about the subject but now that hurricane sandy has flooded and ruined a lot of places they have no choice but to talk about it. They are also talking about how they new to invest in some cleaner energy. I agree that they need to take action because if the climate continues to change things like population could change.

A.D.H.D

Experts are giving chrildren with A.D.H.D medication to calm them down and help them focus, but people are finding that the parents and doctors are also abusing the mediacation because they are giving it to their kids trying to get their kids to focus and get good grades. I know this because in the article it says that Dr. Anderson is saying "he calls the disorder "made up" and "an excuse" to prescribe the pills to treat what is considered the chrildrens true problem poor acedemic skills in inadequate schools." Also he is saying that he doesnt have a lot of choice because the enviroment is expensive so they must change the kids. I strongly disagree with what they are doing because as kids their focus will not be perfect and most kids are hyper so the fact they are calming them down using medication is wrong, parents and doctors should stop before the kids notice what they are doing and speak out about it.

Late night viewing before bed

In the article "Using ipads before bed 'can lead to a poor night's sleep" by Stephen adams he is explaining that getting on your ipad or samsung Glaxay can cause a bad nights sleep. Also in the article he is saying the reason you will have a bad nights sleep is because the light on the screen mimics daylight so your brain is still telling that it is daylight. I agree with this theory because as someone who stays up late on my phone I can never seem to fall asleep. But before they are 100% sure they should test more people because not everyone has trouble falling asleep.

TEXTING IS TAKING A TOLL.

"Texting is taking a toll" was written by: Katie Hafner. In this article Katie is talking about how texting is a negative activity in a teenagers life. She is saying that it may be affecting the way teenagers are developing into young adults. In the article it says that psychologists are saying it may be causing anxiety which is causing distraction in school, falling grades, repetitive stress injury and sleep deprivation. They are also saying that it is causing sleep issues because they are staying up past midnight texting and not getting enough sleep. I feel they are underestimating some teenagers because some don't stay up texting for no reason some stay up because they just simply can not sleep. Also the fact that they are sneaking their phones in class is inappropriate but the teachers are way to strict and uptight about a little cellphone that is not doing any harm, if anything the phones are helping because it is keeping them calm and mostly out of trouble. I can kind of relate to situations like these because I feel that my friends are the ones I go to for advice or when i need help. Unlike some teenagers I do not let the fact i have a cellphone interfere with my school work or sleeping. So to conclude this blog all i have to say is they need to dig deeper in the mind of a teenager and really figure out why teenagers are doing the things they do.

Cheaters

In "Studies Find More Students Cheating, With high Achievers No Exception" written by: Richard Perez-Pena, it says main focus is that kids are cheating. They are arguing that the kids are doing it so the dont fall behind or get a low score. They are also saying that they are not excluding the high achievers. Like for instance in the article it says "There have always been struggling students who cheat to survive." Also it says that "A survey of yale undergraduates by the yale daily news showed that most had never read the school's policy on academic honesty," which is basicly saying that the students are not paying attention to the rules. I feel that it is completely neccesary to do this under certain circumstances, like if you miss a certain amount of class assignments or papers. But it is uneccesary to cheat just because you feel that it will help you achieve a higher score. There can also be other ways of catching back up like going to a professor for help. I was falling behind but I got help from a student and a few teachers but never did I cheat. So all in all cheating is no good because it may help you score higher but you are not learning a thing.
