TEXTING IS TAKING A TOLL.

"Texting is taking a toll" was written by: Katie Hafner. In this article Katie is talking about how texting is a negative activity in a teenagers life. She is saying that it may be affecting the way teenagers are developing into young adults. In the article it says that psychologists are saying it may be causing anxiety which is causing distraction in school, falling grades, repetitive stress injury and sleep deprivation. They are also saying that it is causing sleep issues because they are staying up past midnight texting and not getting enough sleep. I feel they are underestimating some teenagers because some don't stay up texting for no reason some stay up because they just simply can not sleep. Also the fact that they are sneaking their phones in class is inappropriate but the teachers are way to strict and uptight about a little cellphone that is not doing any harm, if anything the phones are helping because it is keeping them calm and mostly out of trouble. I can kind of relate to situations like these because I feel that my friends are the ones I go to for advice or when i need help. Unlike some teenagers I do not let the fact i have a cellphone interfere with my school work or sleeping. So to conclude this blog all i have to say is they need to dig deeper in the mind of a teenager and really figure out why teenagers are doing the things they do.

  1. Good post. Perhaps you are right and that if teenagers are going to become responsible adults they will need to have the opportunity to use their phones in a responsible way. 95
