Slaughter of the elephants

In the article "Slaughter of the elephants" is telling us how they are killing off elephants for their tusks. The article is explaining that 62 percent of elephants vanished from 2002-2011 because they are being poached for their ivory. They are creating new trees which are contributing to the clean air that we like to breathe. I feel there is a different way that they could get the ivory like maybe putting them to sleep because these animals are very important to the rain forest. If they cant get the tusks without killing them then maybe they should not get it at all. Also these are amazing creatures so why would you want to kill them off.

8th grade hitler

In the news article "New Castle 8th grader facing 11 charges" it is talking about how an 8th grade boy made a hit list. The boy made a hit list of people he wanted to kill. Also in this article it is talking about how the parents are mad because they weren't informed right after this event happened. I feel this should be taken more seriously because peoples lives were in danger.

In the article "Celebrities for sale" it is saying how Beyonce will be on the new pepsi can. In the article it says that pepsi is unhealthy and it causes weight gain but kids will still be buying it because she is on the can. Also it says that doing this helps her be creative. I believe that her doing this is not a good idea because a lot of people look up to her so she is basicly encouraging them to go and gain weight.

Giant sinkhole

The article "sinkhole swallows florida man whole" is about a sink hole that comes during the night and swallows a man while he is in bed. In the article it says that the guy had heard a loud crash then heard his brother calling him and he went in to help him but it was too late. Also in the article it says that he was burried too deep almost 100feet and they were no longer going to look for him. Reading this article kind of makes me upset because I dont feel that they should have given up looking for him although he was probably dead. He was part of someones family and if they dont find him then that family may never have closure. I know if that were someone that was part of my family I would have never let them give up looking for him.

Women in combat

This article is about how they feel that women are trying to join in with the men for fighting combat and that they should kind of be able to. Like in the article it was saying how they dont feel that women arent really able to fight back. Also in the aricle they were saying that women have to carry the 100 pound weight on their backs and they arent sure if they can do it. I honestly think women are able to do it because most women now have the physical and emotional strenght to do it and they arent scared to handle serious business. I really think that its possible to fit in with the men because i have 5 brothers and i can do everything they can do.
